Free Tea & Toast Bus

Sadly, tonight will be the final night for the Free Tea & Toast Bus on Wimborne Square. The Trust which owns the Bus (and from which we hire it) is being wound up at the end of the year. Possibly something will happen in a different form in 2020 – so watch this space. So, if you’re in town (or even if you’re not!) do come and join us for a few minutes between 10.30pm and 12.30am tonight – hope to see you there!

Harvest Festival

In September we were delighted to welcome Revd Ralph Ward, our previous Minster, to lead our Harvest Festival Service. Our harvest gifts were donated to the Trussell Trust Ringwood Food Bank and, together with the gifts from St James’ School who also had their harvest festival service at Holtwood, these weighed in at an impressive 183.24 kg – sufficient to provide 3 meals a day for 3 days for 18 people in crisis situations.  Thank you to all for such generosity.  And above are some pics of many of us thoroughly enjoying our Harvest Festival lunch!

‘Worship for You’ at Woodlands Methodist Church

On Sunday 8th September at 6.00 ‘Worship for You’ will be led by Peter Aston, of Holtwood Methodist Church, speaking about his life as a Christian presenter at BBC Radio Solent, as a guest contributor at Premier Christian Radio in London and Hope FM in Bournemouth and also about his current role as a folk and acoustic music presenter at Forest FM92.3 based in Verwood. Part of the service will take the form of a ‘Radio Woodlands’ programme and Peter’s studio interview guest will be Dr Chris Slade.

HOLTWOOD BIG BREAKFAST

BIG BREAKFAST AT HOLTWOOD – You’re invited to join us at 9.30 on Sunday 9th June for our ‘Big Breakfast’ to be led by Revd Nigel Deller. Quite apart from the great breakfast there will also be music led by the band and the ‘Open the Book’ drama team will also reprise a brilliant recent presentation in local 1st Schools. And that’s not all – there will also be children’s activities for the youngsters and the not-so-young. All ages are most welcome and numbers are not limited so why not kick off your day with us? Oh, and did we mention that there will be a Great Breakfast?

Special Circuit Service

First, the Bad News – there will not be a morning service at Holtwood on Sunday 24th March BUT the Good News is that there will be a special Circuit Service at Verwood Methodist Church – and we’re all invited! The service is to recognise the long and dedicated service of four local preachers (including our own Colin Besant) and will start at 10.30 with musicians and singers from several churches leading worship songs from 10.15. Hope you can join us!

‘Carols around the Tree’

‘Carols around the Tree’ will be on the lawn at Holtwood Methodist Church on Sunday 23rd December, 2018 at 6.00. Weather permitting, we’ll join together in favourite carols around our Christmas Tree – led by James Frampton with music by HMB. Afterwards we’ll adjourn to our hall where free seasonal refreshments will be served. Do come and join us – what’s not to like?
